Pac-Man Card Match

Pac-Man, put together by the legend Toru Iwatani of Namco, dropped in Japan as PUCKMAN back in May 1980. Midway Games grabbed the U.S. rights and dropped it stateside in October that year, when the arcades were all about hardcore space shooters like Galaxian and Asteroids. This game flipped the script with its maze chase style, legit setting the stage as a classic and blasting its way into 80s pop culture. Interestingly, there was a bit of a gender gap in the gaming scene back then; by 1982, word on the street was 60% of Pac-Man's fan base were ladies, while dudes ruled the space shooter scene with games like Omega Race.
